WHO'S KNOCKING ON YOUR DOOR?

So the other day I was in my house with my family and the door bell rang.  But we were too busy to answer the door, so we kept on doing our own things.  Then the door bell rang again and then someone started knocking on our door.  But we were just too busy to answer the door.  Besides, eventually "they" will go away.

Have you ever done that:  Let someone knock on your door without opening it?  Neither have we and yet we do that all the time when it comes to Jesus.

Jesus stands knocking on the door to our heart and yet we are "too busy" to respond.  STOP IT!  STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING RIGHT NOW AND TAKE TIME TO "DINE WITH JESUS."

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me" (Revelation 3:20).

Do you know Carmen de asztold's "Prayer of the Little Ducks"? Dear God, give us a flood of water. Let it rain tomorrow and always. Give us plenty of little slugs and other lucious things to eat. Protect all folks who quack and everyone who knows how to swim. Amen. Don't we all tend to live with such narrow prospectives on life? Someone growing up in a small town is likely to be intimidated when going to New York or Paris for the first time. nd what is true in geography is even truer of intellectual horizons! o long as one swims only in a tiny little pond, the fresh water delights of streams, rivers, and ocena remain untried, unknown and out of reach. Jesus came to break the shackles that come from living in too narrow a spiritual world. He taught that life's most important thing is love God with one's whole being. To lose our lives in His is to find life itself; to stay in our own little ponds of self interest is to miss it all. The second most important thing is to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. When we escape our stagnant ponds of selfishness, we can learn to see others. Having seen them, we can care about them--especially the most fragile among them. A cup of water, a warm coat, the message of God's love---sharing these things with one of them counts for doing it to Jesus Himself. So let's stretch the envelope Read. Get to know people from backgrounds different from your own. Eat sushi, skydive, or do something different and exciting. Rather than be threatened by someone with an unconventional point of view, learn from him or her. share the feeling and feel the sharing
